Experience the thrill of the Man From Snowy River’s ride first hand!
Friday the 10th of April 2015 – Thougla, NSW (5 km from Corryong)
The terrain is indicative of the imagery represented in Banjo Paterson’s famous Poem ‘The Man from Snowy River’. The Re-Enactment is just that, a creative and theatrical portrayal of the poem and a celebration of the life of Jack Riley.
Entertainment – 10am Music with Trevor Best & his troop of budding muso’s from the local schools then Geoffrey Graham bush poetry will lead into the commencement of the Man From Snowy River Mountain Muster produced by Tim OBrien’s Boggy Creek crew.
Descendants of local high country stockmen will provide a fun and informative exhibition of what the horse and horsemen of the area undertook as part of life in the mountains. Cattle & sheep dogs, side saddle, Light horse , horsemanship challenge..
Dust busting action & then Riley’s Riders & the Re-enactment continues the story.
Return of the Riley’s Riders – 11.30am We welcome the Riley’s Riders back from their annual ride which is held to commemorate Jack Riley’s life, and to laud the efforts of those who selflessly sought to rescue him under harsh and trying conditions. Jack is reputed to be ‘The Man From Snowy River’ as immortalized in Banjo Paterson’s epic ballad.
The Re-enactment – 12.00pm. See all the action portrayed in Banjo Paterson’s legendary poem, witness the chase and the thrill of this unique part of our heritage. This performance will be an hour long, giving everyone plenty of time to get back into town for the Street Parade at 3.00pm.

Boggy Creek is a working farm set in the foothills of the snowy mountains with spectacular, uninterrupted views.
Being a fourth generation mountain cattleman, Tim O’Brien showcases, in his own unique style, authentic farming life both past and present.
The 2 hour award winning live performance is choreographed to music and professionally presented in an amphitheatre setting that looks right into the heart of the snowy mountains.
You’ll be amazed at the skill and antics of the highly trained animals that feature in the show. Entertainment is guaranteed for all ages.
