The Man From Snowy River Bush Festival is proud to again present to you the stirring Re-enactment of Banjo Paterson’s epic poem at Thowgla only 5 Km from Corryong.
PROUDLY SPONSORED BY TOM GROGGIN STATION
Experience the thrill of the Man From Snowy River’s ride first hand! The Re-enactment of Banjo’s famous poem is an event not to be missed. The show starts with the story of how Jack Riley and Banjo might have met and the yarns they may have swapped over a bottle of whisky at Tom Groggin Station. Tim O’Brien and the Boggy Creek Station boys will set the scene of station life in the mountains in the early days.
“Clancy Of The Overflow” comes down to lend a hand, along with our own Banjo Paterson lookalike Geoffrey Graham, to spin a yarn or two. Then the fun begins with a spectacular presentation of the Man From Snowy River Re-enactment At 11.30am the Re-enactment welcomes Khancoban Station Riley’s Ride® as they arrive from their epic ride that is held to commemorate Jack Riley’s life, and to laud the efforts of those who selflessly sought to rescue him under harsh and trying conditions. Jack Riley is reputed to be ‘The Man From Snowy River’ as immortalised in Banjo Paterson’s epic ballad.
The Re-enactment begins at 12.00pm. See all the action portrayed in Banjo Paterson’s legendary poem, witness the chase and the thrill of this unique part of our heritage and hear the recital of the iconic poem ‘The Man From Snowy River’ as the chase unfolds.
